HDPDO – High Density PDO threads

PDO Threads are a new range of absorbable surgical suture, specifically designed for nonsurgical treatments and lifting of the face, neck and other body areas. HDPDO threads are made under high pressure and temperature to increase their tensile strength and temperature resistance in order to make them stronger and longer lasting.

Once placed in the body, they stimulate tissue fibroblasts to produce more collagen to provide longer lasting tissue lift and rejuvenated skin appearance.

The best candidate is between ages 30 to 60 with mild signs of aging, not on any long term anti-inflammatory medications or any healing issues.  The candidate should have realistic expectations about the final result.

The HDPDO threads are used to lift and reshape number of sagging body areas.  Areas lifted include: face and neck, brows, corner of the mouth, mons pubis, and potentially breasts and buttocks.

Thread lifting procedure is a very low risk.  There is a small chance of swelling, bruising and discomfort.  In rare cases there may be local skin infection or the sutures may become visible under the skin.

You should avoid aggressive washing, massaging, and touching your face or the treated area for at least 24 hours after your procedure. Once you do start showering and cleansing the area, be careful not to massage or scrub with a washcloth for 3 weeks after your thread lift.

Excessive manipulations could result in disruption of the threads and cause the tissue to drop.  Other restrictions include:

Try to eat soft/small mouthful diet for 7 days.

Don’t drink with straws as this distorts the facial muscles.

Do not frown, raise brows, or smile.

If you cry, cough, or sneeze, hold your face with your hands to avoid excessive use of facial muscle.

Avoid Excessive speaking and laughing or opening your mouth to wide.

The threads are made out of biodegradable and dissolvable (polydioxane) material.  While the product is dissolving, new collagen is forming around the thread to continue to support results, maintaining a smooth and supple texture of the skin. Treatment may not be suitable if: You have active acne or active skin infection.

For the first 3-5 days, you may apply and icepack to reduce any chance of bruising. You should sleep in an incline position in order to prevent you from rolling on your side or your face.  Make sure you don’t sleep on your face.
